Meet Nicole, Your Couples and Trauma Therapist in Orlando, FL
Couples and Trauma Therapist in Florida and Virginia
It takes a lot to schedule your first appointment with a new therapist…
If you’ve had disappointing experiences with therapy in the past, you may feel hesitant to try again. Many clients have shared that they became “too friendly” with a therapist, that the work felt helpful at first but then fizzled out, or that sessions turned into venting with a kind listener rather than meaningful change.
I approach therapy with a clear focus on meaningful, lasting change. I believe growth happens within a safe, honest therapeutic relationship that centers around YOUR goals and priorities. We move at a pace that is thoughtfully guided by me but ultimately shaped by you—stretching enough to support growth, without pushing past your limits.
I’m Nicole, a therapist who works with individuals and couples navigating big transitions—like an empty nest, shifting roles, or feeling suddenly “stuck” in a relationship that once felt easier. I also help clients process past trauma and hardships, so they are less reactive and triggered in all areas of life.
In our work together, I’ll meet you exactly where you are—no judgment, no pressure to move faster than you’re ready for. My approach is compassionate, grounded, and collaborative. My hope is that therapy becomes something you look forward to: a space to feel seen, make sense of what’s happening inside you and between you, and grow into a more authentic, connected version of yourself—individually and in your relationships.
You’re ready for change…
You’re here because something in your life has shifted.
Maybe the kids are grown and gone, and the house feels a little too quiet.
Maybe old hurts are starting to surface now that you finally have space to breathe.
Maybe you’re realizing that what got you through the busy years isn’t working anymore.
You’re ready for a change if:
You feel stuck in old patterns and want to stop getting triggered the same way.
You’re entering the empty nest stage and wondering, “Who am I now?”
You want to heal from past trauma so it doesn’t keep shaping your relationships.
You’re longing to reconnect – with yourself, with your partner, or with your grown children – but don’t know where to start.
You’re ready to feel calmer, stronger, and more grounded in this new season of life.
My work is for people who are tired of just “pushing through” and are ready to:
Understand why they react the way they do
Learn tools to calm their nervous system and feel safer in their own body
Build healthier, closer connections in this new chapter
Create a life that feels meaningful, not just busy
If this sounds like you, you’re in the right place.
You don’t have to navigate this transition alone, and you don’t have to stay stuck in old pain.
This is your invitation to heal, reset, and reconnect in the empty nest stage of life.
What makes this different?
I work with you to identify and understand common trauma patterns—shame, avoidance, hypervigilance, emotional numbing—and how they show up in daily life and relationships.
I teach practical grounding and regulation skills you can use in the moment to reduce overwhelm and prevent reactivity.
I validate your experience while gently challenging unhelpful narratives so you can make new meaning from old wounds.
I support couples in rebuilding trust and emotional attunement by teaching communication practices that reduce escalation and increase feeling heard.
For empty-nest transitions, I focus on reconnecting partners around shared values, new roles, and renewed intimacy—helping you co-create the next chapter rather than grieve it alone.
I guide couples in establishing rituals and routines that foster closeness (daily check-ins, intentional date time, collaborative planning) suited to your life stage.
I teach concrete skills for repair after ruptures—how to apologize, how to receive an apology, and how to restore connection.
My aim is that you leave therapy with greater nervous-system regulation, clearer communication, renewed intimacy, and practical ways to prevent old wounds from dictating your present.
Therapy with me is
Collaborative:
→ I meet each person and couple where they are, work at a pace that feels safe and effective, and stay focused on agreed treatment goals while adapting interventions to your needs.
Personalized
→Every session is tailored to your history, your relationship, and your goals, so the healing process feels safer, less threatening, and truly aligned with who you are as a couple.
Adaptive
→ Therapy with me adapts to the unique challenges of the empty nest stage and the impact of past trauma, so we can respond to what you and your partner need in each session.
READY TO START COUPLES OR TRAUMA THERAPY IN ORLANDO, FL?
Outside of the Therapy Room…
I’m navigating the rewards and challenges of a blended family and preparing for the empty‑nest stage.
I share life with my husband, two children, and three adult stepchildren, giving me first‑hand insight into the complexities and joys of having a blended family and the shifts couples face as kids leave home.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me working out, walking in nature, or enjoying a good cup of coffee (which I usually have on hand for my early morning sessions).
When I got a pair of “Freudian slippers” as a child, I knew I wanted to be a therapist. I never imagined I’d be doing this work online, but I love that the virtual space allows me to reach people who might not otherwise have access to therapy.
